Sloane the Snowman
WHAT A CUTIE THIS DUDE IS!!!
Sloane the Snowman by Bent Creek Trilogy.
He was originally started back in 8.18.2017 and finished today.
He has had a long road to completion and when I started on him again,
it was a very dislike filled relationship with the fabric he is stitched on which is a 32 ct linen.
But.. I was too far along to start over, so one painful stitch at a time until he was done.
My older eyes just cant do the linens anymore.
They cannot differentiate between threads when the slubs make it so uneven.
So I have decided to never stitch on anything lower than 28 ct, and never linen.
That way i have an easier time stitching and wont get fed up with the fabric ever again.
So here he is...complete with his cute little birdie buttons
Noel Cardinal Card
This finish is a fun little kit from back in 1988 from The New Berlin Company.
It is a kit for a card with a pretty card blank , heart inset to put your stitching in.
I wasn't originally going to use the card, but after I got it stitched I changed my mind.
I will have so many pin pillows, bowl fillers and ornaments that a card is a nice change to add to the rest of what I have been creating.
The holly border on the card is so simply and prety I just had to use it.
This kit was gifted to me by a sweet lady on my FB.
She gifted me with some stithcing things and I am so grateful she did.
Thank you, you know who you are....
My 1rst Halloween piece of 2023
Today I have my first halloween stitch of 2023..
I really enjoyed this one, but after I was finished there are a couple things I would have changed.
I would have changed the color for the border lines to green. Maybe.
I used 14 ct Fiddlers Oatmeal.. Another of my favorite Fabrics.
I do like how it came out. Now to find a frame for it..
The Prairie Schooler #1
My very very FIRST Prairie Schooler Stitch EVER!!!!
I am so in love with TPS, and a few others..
Let's see...
Stoney Creek - PinkernPunkin - Cherry Hill Stitchery - Hands on Design - Homespun Elegance
Little House Needleworks - The Blue Flower - Sugar Stitches - The Little Stitcher
With Thy Needle and Thread and many more... way too many to keep listing!
So without fiurther ado.. here is my first one..
It is from a 2014 Cross Stitch Collection Magazine
This set is called The Night before Christmas - 4 in the set, I have 3 to go.
This one is stitched on 28 ct Mushroom Laguna, one of my favorite fabrics.
Stitch Pillow redo
Today I have completed my redo for a stitch pillow i made many years ago.
I started it while my roommate was in the ER for kidney stones and finished it a couple days later.
Of course I still have to do the final finish on all of the stitches I have done this year.
That will all come later.
The first pic is the one done years ago...
ignore the copyright on my photo, that website is gone due to lack of funds to maintain it.
this is designed by https://kincavelkrosses.wordpress.com/, called needlebook
Both were done on 14 ct Fiddlers Oatmeal
I really like how the newer one came out, at first I didnt like the bottom color, but it has grown on me.
2023 has gotten away from me...
I went back all the way back to her very first post and discovered
the reason she numbers every stitch she posts.
She had set a goal of doing an ornament every week of 2009.
Now here I am thinking, Why can't I do that too? Problem is...
we are now 12 weeks into 2023 so I am seriously behind. But not as behind as you may think..
Since February 13th, 2023, I have done 9 ornaments
[just the stitching part, finishing is still to be done]
So technically all I have to do to get caught up to be current and on schedule is make 4 in the next week.... Can I do it? Maybe...
My health hasnt been so good the last three months and every day is like russian roulette..
Or as Forest Gump says.. Life is like a box of chocolates.. you never know what your gonna get....
I have also decided to not continue doing crafts that I either do not enjoy or frustrate me beyond belief.
Things like stamping, papercrafts and junk journals. Nope, just not going to do them any more.
I will pass on what things i have that I wont use and move on to what does give me joy.
So I will set this same goal for myself and see how I do.
The patterns I am doing are smalls, so it might just work.
